About CARES
CARES (Comprehensive Advocacy Resources and Educational Services) was founded in 2025 as a labor of love after nearly three decades of dedication to students and families. Over 29 years, I have served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, vice principal, and principal in both traditional public and charter schools. These experiences have shaped our mission: promoting equity in education and helping every student succeed.
What sets CARES apart is the unique perspective that is brought to advocacy. As a trained advocate through the National Special Education Advocacy Institute, I understand the education system from the inside and now guide families with a student‑focused lens. We believe every child deserves access to quality education and appropriate supports, and we help families navigate IEPs, 504 plans, RTI processes, and school meetings.
CARES stands for equity and collaboration between schools and families. We work to bridge gaps and ensure that students receive the services they need to thrive. Whether your child needs support with reading, specialized instruction, assistance with special education services, 504 services, school avoidance, or behavioral issues we are here to help!
